For five years I
Stitched life to my side
But I still dream
Im falling down
I still wake up
On the ground
How the sea swells
And begs me down
I am both the crushing waves
And the breaking bow

Isn't She Something
03:53

The fire said feed me
The liar said you'll need me
The forest said walk in deeper
And soon enough you'll meet her
For three hours straight I ran
I stumbled over roots and into other hands
Then there stood five trees breathing
And the earth opened up beneath me
She painted me black
Her eyes were blue
She made me see
She made me lose
She painted me black
She came from nothing
The trees turned to me
And said isn't she something

Paul

He stretched out his neck
And off came his head
On that day
All the stars stopped spinning around us
He said have more faith in salvation
Its about more than just patience
Or that weight that you know
Won't ever leave you
It was holy for one of us
What has become of us
It was holy for one of us
I wish there was one of us
And they held the body still
Instead of blood out poured milk
On that day
Oh the stars stopped spinning around us
It was god they'd deserted
And on his grave they converted
And that weight that they know
Wont ever leave them alone
It was holy for one of us
What has become of us
It was holy for one of us
I wish there was one of us

Room 201

An old man waits
In a hotel room
Eight paces to the window
Five to the bathroom
Money in his pocket
His eager heart beating
She knocks at the door
But all he can hear is
Goodnight my baby
Goodnight my baby
She lays him down
Then loses five buttons
His heart runs laps around her
The boy feels something
The islands of mould
Look down from the ceiling
She whispers some cliche line
But all he can hear is
Goodnight my baby
Goodnight my baby

The starlight sat within the star
It sat inside the lungs
Waiting for its time to shine
Twiddling its thumbs
It slowly wriggled out towards
The surging and the flares
Then took inside one great deep breath
And jumped off from the edge
The light it sped at the speed of light
It sped throughout the void
Dipped a toe in a mercury moon
Bounced off an asteroid
Then something distant caught its eye
For even light must rest
It set sail for a place to call home
A tiny pale blue speck
The speck it bulged with every mile
Until it filled the view
The swirling clouds and rolling seas
Of white and green and blue
But now the starlight burned inside
The starlight yearned for home
And that was waiting further down
In a garden, all alone
So as you stood in your back yard
And gazed up at the sky
The gleeful starlight hurtled down
And landed in your left eye
Your thirsty pupil drank it in
The starlight fizzled through
And crackling through your synapses
It began to become you

What if Other
03:31
|

What if other words wont take us
Fine place to wrecking ball
Fine place to feed
Our home got overcrowded
And so we leave
We lucky gamble on it
A pebble in the sky
I cant stop thinking
How far from home I'll die
